Pretty much, if I don't know you in real life, or have already interacted with you to some significant extent online, I probably won't add you - sorry.

(except for the handful of entries that apparantly have some weird coding that LJ won't let me edit anymore, or delete, or anything. so enjoy a random handful of retarded old entries.)

The wedding was beautiful. One of the best I've ever been to. I'm pretty sure I was the third most nervous person in the garden during the ceremony itself, but besides that, I completely enjoyed shooting it! And I am very, very happy with the photos. I edited a few of my favorites just to show y'all:

Seven more photos that barely start to capture two amazing people. If you don't want to see the most inarguably, undeniably beautiful true love I've seen in a long time, don't click here. )

Left public for once, in case T. wants to link to it (but T., you can just snag them from here too and repost them yourself if you'd like). Let me know what you think! Or just leave comments about how freakin' gorgeous his lady is for him to read. ;)

I don't think I ever actually posted good photos of my house when I moved in. I know I posted a few off the point and shoot when things were still unpacked, but after we cleaned/organized everything this weekend, I thought to snap some photos of the place and share the joy that is my beloved old apartment. :)

Some notes -

Check out the massive old live oak in our front yard. There is no lens that will capture the whole thing. Branches of it come all the way over to our front doors and across both streets of the corner.

The azaleas grow like weeds here. My entire neighborhood - hell, the entire city - is abloom with them right now.

There are two backyards: the tiny, fenced-in one (mine) and the big one with the firepit and the benches and all (theirs, but I have free use of it).

The wall you can't see in the bedroom photos has my TV On The Radio poster and AA degree (ha!) framed and hanging.

For those of you who haven't seen my closet since I moved in - this is truly a miraculous sight. It was full out to the curtains before yesterday. Fully 1/3rd of my clothing is off to charity, seeing as how I NEVER WORE IT.

Check out that sweet ancient Hotpoint stove action.

I love my house. :)

PS - Shoe organization. I needs it. Halp? Ideas?

I almost forgot to steal this light today.

Taking a good thing and (maybe) making it better? If ever a photo showed me at my essence, this would be it.

PS This really looks better large.

Yes, I know this would be far nicer with, I don't know, a person in the frame rather than Emmie, but you take what you can get, I guess.

Maybe tomorrow I'll recreate it with myself.

So, continuing on the theme of your my mom... your daily pretty.

She wanted nice, "classic," flattering photos - no harsh light, nothing weird or crazy or "creative," she said. Way to kill my fun, Mom. ;)

Very tentatively thinking about going back to Europe late this summer/early this fall... all dependent on my financial situation, but if I can find enough work to get my money situation back in order this spring/summer, I'd really like to take off or a few weeks before football season kicks into gear. Probably not a 6-week trip like last time, but I'd like to do a good 3 weeks or so if I can. The way I travel, the plane ticket's the only expensive part, anyways, and I'll bet I can score that part as a graduation gift.

Gah. You! You who are to blame for this. You know who you are! This is your fault!

I love having friends all over the world. Talking to my friend Lorant, who I met when I stayed with him for a few nights in Budapest about two years ago...

I love the word "pussy", as it sounds so remarkably like "puszi" in hungarian, which is a "niceword" for a kiss on the cheek.

My English friend who travelled the world somewhat in her time tells me that learning a language completely is only possible through pillow-talk.

The things you learn! :)

Today's pretty:

Hands of Love

My mom's hands are never as manicured or smooth as mine. Her nails are rarely longer than her fingertips, and her fingers are usually scratched up. She loves the earth and all its beauty in every moment more than many people do in a lifetime, and it shows in every splash of floral color surrounding her home and her life.

After watching [info]scottchurch set up for his shoot this afternoon (damn, the Internet is cool sometimes) I got all twitchy and set up my lights on the porch to try something new. I wanted to try to approximate the look of a ringlight, which is a pretty neat toy (and currently quite trendy, sadly) but has the unfortunate characteristic of costing well over $1,000 for a good one.

Anyways, it's not a perfect look, but I like it enough to add it to my repertoire.

My life would be so much easier if was just photogenic. :-D Two more down here! )

The neighbors REALLY enjoyed watching me do this, for what it's worth.

If you were casually dating a guy, having it been established that it's a casual relationship, and you didn't know it but he was about to break up with you because he'd met someone that he really wants to be serious with, and you had 2 weekends of plans ahead at that point, would you rather he tell you immediately or not tell you for two weeks to avoid ruining your plans?

Pics from the new house! Keep in mind that we only had a day and a half to get everything over and we didn't have power for the whole first day, so most everything is going to stay totally packed and disastrous until I return for the school year in three weeks. But you can get an idea of what it's like and how freaking cute it is even though it's a total disaster. :) I'm sure I'll post more pics again when it's actually organized, but for now, here's unedited point-and-shoot photos of my very messy new house in the Duckpond*.

Yay crappy photos of my multi-colored new house! )

What you are about to see is amazing. Quite possibly one of the greatest things I have ever been a part of in my life.

But first, some background. Kyle (ushichan9 came over tonight to make cookies and knit with me. We made sugar cookies and decided to frost them. So we made a few different colors of frosting and ended up getting a little artistic. Warning, mildly obscene cookies ahead. )

But lo, that was not enough. "We should make a Masterpiece," said I. "We should go get more dough, roll it out to make one big cookie, and paint the whole thing with frosting."

And so off we went to Kash 'n' Karry, where more dough and cheap paintbrushes were procured.

"But what shall we paint?" asked Kyle. We quickly decided upon the gay cowboy sex scene from Brokeback Mountain. And then decided it was way too complicated.

"A portrait of us," I suggested, to which Kyle agreed. "But what shall we do with SO much green icing?"

"A dinosaur!" replied the ever-ingenious Kyle.

"Yes! A dinosaur, eating us!" I replied, excited. "But wait - I want to be riding the dinosaur!"

Kyle answered, "Yes, and I want to shoot lasers out of my eyes!"

With my eyes sparkling with excitement, I could barely contain myself. "A DINOSAUR BATTLE!"

And so, the Masterpiece was begun. Warning, what lies beneath this cut is quite possibly too awesome for regular human viewing. )

Final tally? Two crazy nerds, one box of confectioner's sugar, one tube of sugar cookie dough, and two hours of early morning frosting-painting.

I'm so proud.

Oh, and one more post, with basketball images from Thursday night. I think I'm definitely still improving. I got my first published sports photo from this game!

Cut for those who don't care about basketball, but I'd love it if you looked. :) (+9) )

Thoughts, comments, criticism (at least the kind that doesn't involve calling me names) all very, very, very welcome.
